St. Michael and All Angels, Witton Gilbert
Built more than 800 years ago, the church stands on a mound bordered by two streams. Even though the village has moved away uphill, it serves still as parish church, and as a place for prayer.
Standard opening times: The church is open from 10 am until dusk (about 5 p.m. in the summer), with hospitallers present on Saturdays in June, July and August 11 am to 3 pm - probably the best time to visit. You are welcome to visit at any other time, winter or summer, by arrangement.
Regular services: Sunday 9.15 am Parish Eucharist, Evensong 6 pm on 2nd Sunday of month, Tuesday 8.30 am Morning Prayer, Wednesday 9.30 am Eucharist.
